We have been creating jewelry together for years. Initially we met to rework jewelry that has been passed on in Eva’s family in order to make it more contemporary, wearable and individual.

We instantly realised that we have a creative flow that is very complimentary and inspires both of us. After developing many pieces together over the years, we came up with the KARMA pendant and the infinity chain. This birthed the idea to start a collaboration and over time we developed the brand JOVA. JOVA allows us to merge our knowledge, skills and influences to bring jewelry to you that has a deeper meaning, is produced sustainably, executed beautifully and provides a fresh, contemporary take on spiritual expression.

The pieces we create for JOVA combine Jonathan’s high standards of execution within his craft with Eva’s love for generating a minimalist aesthetic which manages to carry complex insights.

we use recycled metals& gemstones from carefully selected sources

we produce our jewelry on-demand & locally in Hamburg

Jonathan Johnson's goldsmithing interprets influences from high and pop culture, philosophy and politics, punk and luxury, fine art and activism.

By melding contradictory elements and motifs, Jonathan Johnson elevates his craftsmanship and the accompanying obsession with detail to a contemporary level.

Taking great pleasure in tongue-in-cheek provocation, he creates unique works of art from a conceptual alloy that is defined by interdisciplinary content rather than its coloration and surface. This attitude and approach make each of his works a personal, political and artistic statement.

Jonathan Johnson designs and produces all works in his Hamburg studio. He uses only recyclable materials (sterling silver and gold) from a German refinery. His tools come from local manufactures and he uses only green electricity.

Eva Hückmann is a multi-facetted designer who presently works from Hamburg and expresses her vision through graphic representation and painting. She has studied and lived in New York where she was influenced by her work in small, multi-disciplinary design-studios with a highly creative approach before moving to Berlin. Her life has taught her to believe in spirituality and she has deepened her knowledge of manifestation techniques and belief systems such as tarot, yoga & astrology for many years. In her pieces for JOVA she aims to convey a deeper level of insight while maintaining a form of expression that is minimalist.
